ResumGO.com complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). This page explains how we protect the privacy of children under 13 and what parents can do if they have a concern.
What is COPPA?
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act is a U.S. law that puts parents in control of the personal information collected online from children under 13. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which sets out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.
Who ResumGO is for
ResumGO offers free resume, CV and cover letter templates, career articles and ATS tools for people looking for a job. Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and our Terms and Conditions require users to be at least 13 years old.
Information we collect
- No account needed: you can browse the website and download templates without signing up or giving us your name or email address.
- No knowing collection from children: we do not knowingly collect, use or share personal information from children under 13.
- Cookies and similar technologies: like most websites, ResumGO uses cookies for statistics and advertising, based on the choices you make in our cookie banner. Details are in our Privacy Statement and Cookie Policy.
- ATS tools: files submitted to the ATS Resume Scanner or the ATS Text Extractor are used only to analyze the resume, as described on each tool’s page. Children under 13 should not use these tools.
- Contacting us: if you email us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name and email address, and use it only to reply.
If we learn a child under 13 has shared information
If we learn that we have received personal information from a child under 13, for example through an email or a support request, we will not use or share it, and we will delete it securely and promptly.
Information for parents
If you believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to ResumGO, please contact us. We will review the request and delete the information. You can also contact us to ask what information, if any, we hold about your child.
For teenagers aged 13 to 17 who use ResumGO to prepare a first resume, we encourage parents or guardians to help them decide what personal details to include before sending a resume to an employer.
